The Rotterdam of Klaas Gubbels - Rotterdam Art Week

On January 19, the monograph 'The unequal of the same' about Klaas Gubbels was published. From that moment on, the whole of Rotterdam has been dominated by this great artist, culminating in the Rotterdam Art Week. Various locations that have been of great importance to Klaas, and still are, pay special attention to him during this period.

In the Bijenkorf, where Klaas started his career as a lacquer writer, the Metro Café has been decorated with his works and Klaas Gubbels will sign on February 11 at noon. You can also come and experience the works of Klaas while enjoying a cup of coffee at café Dudok. The same applies to Hotel New York, where the most famous wall painting in Rotterdam can be seen. The Van Nelle Factory played a major role in Klaas Gubbels' life. Don't forget to visit this location during the Rotterdam Art Week. Or maybe you go in a different direction and walk to the Provenierssingel to see how the sculpture 'A Swan in the Distance' has suddenly been given a new 'aggressive yellow' color (as Klaas himself calls it) especially this month. The exhibition 'The unequal of the same' will be shown for the last time in the Christian Ouwens Gallery during the Rotterdam Art Week. On Saturday, February 11, Klaas Gubbels will sign here at 1:00 pm and close the exhibition in a festive manner. The gallery is open until 10 p.m. on the same Saturday during the Gallery Night.
