The New Current is a Rotterdam based platform for artists at the start of their career. In an annual exhibition, The New Current presents young, talented artists from the Netherlands and beyond to a wide audience during the Rotterdam Art Week. Space is given to experiment, large installations, new techniques and presentation forms such as audiovisual art and crossovers. With a focus on video art, installations and performance, The New Current translates complex works of art into a unique experience.

'Transitions: Navigating Humanity in a Shifting Reality' is a response to the complex relationship between people and the constantly evolving world in which we live. How do individuals survive, adapt and shape an existence that is constantly influenced by technological, cultural and ecological changes? The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the profound impact of rapid change on human experiences, identities and perceptions. It explores the interfaces between technology, nature, society and the individual, and offers stimulating perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that a constantly changing reality brings.
